May Guest Speaker
Shelly Sassen is the Executive Director of The Well Outreach, a full-service Food Ministry located in Spring Hill with a mission of feeding families and individuals in a time of crisis through a “Client-Choice” retail-like Food Pantry, weekend JetPack food bags for at-risk Students, and mobile Food Giveaways.
The Well Outreach is one of the only food ministries in Middle Tennessee to serve guests during the day, evening and weekend making it easier for working-class families to access relief support as well as to provide a “free-store” pantry concept where guests can choose the food items they need most.
The Well founded in 2006 has grown 500% in the last 3 years under the leadership of Sassen and feeds 500-600 families with no geographic limit each month through their food pantry, 800+ at-risk Students every week with a weekend resource of 5 meals through their JetPack program; and provides 15 Mobile Food Giveaways per year with each infusing 25,000 pounds of food into a community in crisis.
Sassen, a former Marketing Executive and Owner of three Middle Tennessee businesses has lived locally since 1976 and is happily married to Tim Sassen and the Mother of 4 Boys.
Her mission is to give more than one receives, to look at problems as opportunities for change, and to ask God’s direction with an open heart and hands.
