Trash + Recycling Pickup
Trash and recycling services in the City of Spring Hill are contracted through Waste Management (WM).
For new residents, your WM account will be set up at the same time as your utility billing through the city. Trash and recycling services are included on the same statement each month as your water and sewer bill.
WM provides weekly curbside pickup of all trash. Recyclables are collected every other week according to your address.
You can find your pickup days below:
- Garbage and Recycle Daily Schedule (Find your pickup day)
- Garbage and Recycle Monthly Calendar (Find your recycle week)
Your bins should be placed at your curb no later than 6 a.m. on your collection day.
One trash bin and one recycle bin will be provided to you. Customers must use one of the provided bins as any other containers will not be serviced.
Need more space?
Additional carts are available to rent and will be billed directly to you by WM. Each additional cart is $8.98 per month. Please email WM at psmidsouth@wm.com to place an order.

Holidays
Waste Management observes six national holidays per year:
- New Year's Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas
When one of the holidays falls on a weekday, trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day that week. For example, Thursday pickups will be on Friday, and Friday pickups will be on Saturday.
Garbage
Sanitation workers will only pick up garbage that is bagged and placed in garbage containers. They will not pick up barrels or brush. They are restricted from picking up medical or chemical waste, paint cans, dead animals, furniture, and appliances.
Recyclables
Recyclables are collected on the same day that your garbage is collected*, but only every other week, according to your address.
A container for recycling will be provided and is easily identified by the yellow lid. Place all your recyclables in your recycling cart together - no need to sort.
*Unless told otherwise by WM
Chemicals
Please do not dispose of chemicals in your household garbage. Chemicals, which should always be disposed of at a special chemical drop-off point, can cause fires inside of the garbage trucks.
