In February 2019, the BOMA approved a $2 million contract for the construction of the Crossings Circle North Bridge, which will create a much needed second entrance into The Crossings shopping center. Construction began March 12, and has a contract completion date of Dec. 5, 2019.
The bridge will cross over McCormick Creek, connecting The Crossings with the neighboring development, The Columns, being constructed at 5426 Main Street and creating a second entrance/exit for the busy shopping center. The bridge, which will include sidewalks, will be built along an eastern extension of Stephen P. Yokich Parkway, where the intersection of U.S. 31 and Stephen P. Yokich is now a four-point intersection.
The project is being constructed through a public-private partnership between the City and the private developer of the Main Street property.
