Utility Billing Notice: Water bills mailed Feb. 28; new meter reading

Important Notice

City of Spring Hill utility bills were generated and mailed on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion caused by this late billing. All customer data for utility bills had to be reconstructed due to the November cyberattack, and we have experienced issues with several components of the billings.

As we are late in sending out bills, the due date has been extended to March 15, 2018. We will not be assessing late charges with this bill cycle, nor will services be cut off for non-payment.

The new bills are based upon a meter reading done on Jan. 25 and 26 and should show your water consumption from Oct. 18 to the date of the reading. This is the first up-to-date utility bill issued since the City suffered a cyberattack in early November. Please understand that we have been dedicating a large amount of time and effort to getting bills generated and that it is a top priority for us.

If you believe your bill is incorrect, please provide us with a copy of your October bill showing the credit balance and/or something to show all payments you made between October and now and we will research it and contact you. Again, please bear with us as we work through this initial billing. We are doing our best to ensure your bill is accurate.

We are now working to make available the online bill payment feature and we will post a notice here on the website and on our phone system when it’s operable.
