Charlie, age 11, has several art pieces that will be displayed on the library's Youth Art Wall through mid-February. She likes to use alcohol markers and sometimes acrylic markers to craft her drawings.
Charlie's Artist Statement: "My name is Charlie. I’m 11 years old and I made and colored all the pieces you see here! My creative journey was heavily inspired by seeing other artists. Seeing their work made me want to do the same. I use alcohol markers and sometimes acrylic markers mostly because I have never been the best with paint and colored pencils. Japan in my opinion is a beautiful place and a lot of what I draw can sometimes be tied to Japanese culture. My main goal with art in general is to see improvement for myself and others. I create for myself. I don’t need attention; I just need to keep making art. I’m from a family who loves the arts. I realize I’m extremely lucky. They motivate me to be where I am today."
