[ARCHIVED] City Hosts 'Turning of the Valve' Ceremony to Mark Completion of Arbor Valley Water Tank

Arbor Valley Water Tank - Turning of the Valve 1

The new Arbor Valley water storage tank is officially completed, and its activation was marked by a "Turning of the Valve" ceremony on Monday, April 15, 2024, with members of City administration and representatives from Goodall Homes in attendance.

The ceremony began with a brief statement from Jessica Weaver, the City of Spring Hill's Utility Director. She was immediately followed by Spring Hill Mayor Jim Hagaman, who did the honors of turning the valve, officially beginning the process of filling the 1.5 million-gallon storage tank. Water Plant Superintendent Jeremy Vanderford, Water Distribution Superintendent TC Norman, and Assistant City Administrator Dan Allen also assisted in turning the valve.

The Arbor Valley Water Storage Tank was built through a joint-development agreement with Goodall Homes.

With a price tag of just over $1.6 million, the City of Spring Hill was responsible for 60% of the costs, while Goodall Homes contributed the remaining 40%.
