The Citizen Election Task Force is a body of Spring Hill residents leading the charge toward shaping how elections work in Spring Hill.
Due to recently passed legislation at the state level, which "prohibits members of local governing bodies to be elected through an election procedure that requires candidates to be nominated from a district and elected at large," the City of Spring Hill is having to evaluate its city structure before the election process in 2024.
Currently, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) is made up of the Mayor and eight Aldermen — two from each of the four Wards.
The Citizen Election Task Force is now debating how to configure that structure moving forward, from 2024 and beyond.
