Your Court Date

Your Court Date

The date you are to appear for court on the citation that you received is located on the citation at the bottom.  Make sure that you have been cited to the Spring Hill Municipal Court, as opposed to the General Sessions Courts of Williamson or Maury Counties, so that you do not waste time driving to the wrong court location.  If you have a question as to where you are to appear, please contact our clerk’s office at (931) 486-2252, ext. 243.

Continuances & Re-Sets

If you have a scheduling conflict and are unable to appear for court on your court date, you must call the court clerk at least 24 hours before your court date to have it rescheduled.   All citations over which the Spring Hill Municipal Court has jurisdiction will be heard within six months of the date that the citation was issued.  If you have a question regarding a continuance or reset of your matter, please contact our clerk’s office at (931) 486-2252, ext. 243.

Failure to Appear is Contempt of Court

This is a separate offense, which has no relation to your guilt or innocence with respect to the initial violation. Failure to appear on your scheduled court date or pay the citation prior to your court date will result in an additional citation for Contempt of Court which carries an additional fine, court cost, litigation tax and an administrative fee in the amount of $173.75.  A collection agency may be used which will result in additional costs and could impact your credit.

Payment of Fines & Court Costs

Payment of fines and court costs is due at the time of your court appearance.  If you need a payment plan or would like to submit an affidavit of indigency, please contact the court clerk's office.  Any unpaid citations will be submitted to a collection company, which could affect your credit.  Also, when applicable by law, the Tennessee Department of safety will  be notified of your failure to pay,  and your driver's license will be subject to suspension.
