State Property Tax Relief Program For Elderly Homeowners


  • Must be 65 or older on or before December 31, 2022. Must provide evidence of age.
  • Must own and use the property on which you live as your primary residence.
  • Combined 2021 income of the applicant, applicant’s spouse and all co-owners of the property cannot exceed $31,600.
  • Annual income from all sources. (Refer to information regarding income sources.)

Disabled Veteran/Widow(er)

  • Totally and permanently disabled as classified by the Veteran’s Administration.
  • Proof of identity required.
  • A surviving spouse must provide a copy of the veteran’s death certificate
  • No income limit.
  • Must not have been dishonorably discharged from any armed services.

Property Tax Freeze Program


  • Must be 65 or older on or before December 31, 2022. Must provide evidence of age.
  • Combined 2021 income of the applicant, applicant’s spouse and all co-owners of the property cannot exceed: Williamson County $56,790, and Maury County $38,830.
  • Provide proof of Residency.
  • Must own and use the property on which you live as your primary residence.
  • The homeowner must file an application annually.
  • Annual income from all sources. (Refer to information regarding income sources.)

Proof of Income


Signed copies of Federal tax returns for each person in household (if applicable) and copies of all earnings statements for each person in household, including but not limited to:
  • Supplemental Security income
  • Social Security benefits
  • Veterans benefits
  • Wages earned
  • Retirement
  • Dividends
  • Pension(s)
  • Interest income
  • Tips
  • Rental income
  • Any other income

The application deadline for these programs is April 5, 2023.
